Three Counties Championship Dog Show. Cairn Terriers.
Judge; Ian Kettle. 4th
June2015. It was an honour and
privilege to judge our breed at this show and I thank the committee and
officers for their kind hospitality. I was disappointed in the
rear movement in many of the exhibits with the hocks so close together, it
seems to have become the norm, the standard clearly states, ‘neither too
close nor too wide apart’. The hindquarters of the Cairn are most important ‘
very strong and muscular’ very few exhibits reflected this and paid the
price. MPD (2) 1. Mears. GLENMEAR McINTYRE. What a happy chap full of the joys of being
a puppy. Once settled moved well, good topline and tailset, correct bone,
nice front and shoulders, good eyes and mouth. BP. 2. Keeves. SEVEEK I SPIED
THAT DREAM. Very much a baby, correct
eye in shape and colour, appealing head, correct double coat, good spring of
rib and topline. PD (1) 1. Hacker. TEDDEANA MR JINKS. Red
brindle, good mouth, well balanced, good front, level topline, nice neck and
shoulders. JD. (3) 1. Inett, Harrison, King and Leighton.
CARRADINE GEORGE FLIES WITH HARKINLEIGH. Silver brindle, very sound, correct
neck and shoulders, level topline and good tailset, in good coat and
condition, presented well. 2. Thompson. CASTLELINE
BARN DANCE. In good coat of correct texture, good eye and colour, super front
with well padded feet, correct bite. 3. Lamb and Saltmarsh.
BIRSELAW DARK CHARMER. PGD. (6,1a) 1. Percy. WINETTA SIR IVOR. Well balanced,
good head, neck and shoulders, level topline, moved well, good mouth with
large teeth, correct ear placement. RCC. 2. Day. CHERRYCRACK LUDO AT
TREKHILLI. Dark brindle, good outline, balanced, coat in good order and
correct texture, nice neck and shoulders, good spring of rib. 3. Parker-Tucker. UNIQUECOTTAGE WINSFORD. LD. (4, 1a) Drew. TYCADNO
THRILLER AT L’ARTISTE. In very good condition, pleasing head well furnished,
nice neck and shoulders, good double coat, nice spring of rib, moved and
showed well. 2. Inett and Engebretsen.
CARRADINE DEXTER. Super coat of good texture, dark brindle, good mouth and
teeth, strong shoulders and neck, level topline, presented well, very showy. 3. Lamb and Saltmarsh.
RENSHAW THERE AND BACK AGAIN. OD. (5, 1a) 1. Thomas. CH.
TYCADNO I SPY. A quality male and in
very good order, super double coat, keen expression, correct eye shape and
colour, good hindquarters not over angulated, moved well with drive. CC. BOB. 2. Waites. SVENDALENS SNOW
KNIGHT. Pleasing head, well furnished with the correct expression, good mouth
with correct bite, good double coat, level topline good tailset. 3. Bateman and Gompels.
Carradine Terries Tipple. MPB. (5) 1. Keeves. SEVEEK HOPES ‘N’ DREAMS. Delightful
red with a dark mask, well made, good mouth and teeth, pleasing head, very
good coat and texture, correct front and good quarters. 2. Osborn. TWESLAM GIMME
GIMME MAGIC. Another good one, well balanced, very showy, good head and
teeth, good topline and tailset, pleasing head and expression. 3. Bennett. MAXIMAL ONCE IN
A BLUE MOON. PB. (3) 1. Bennett. MAXIMAL
ONCE IN A BLUE MOON. Though placed 3rd in MPB , she shone in this class and deserved
her place, correct eye, shape and
colour, very good double coat, correct bone, good topline and tailset, moved
well. 2. Ballinger. CLOVERBROOK
COCO CHANEL. Well balanced, good bone, nice neck and topline, correct front,
coat let her down. 3. Keeves. MIDNIGHT DREAMS
AMONG SEVEEK. JB. (7, 1a) 1. Inett, Harrison and Clayton. CARRADINES CONNIES
KIRSTY. A very nice bitch this, pleasing head, neck and shoulders, good
topline and tailset, well sprung ribs with depth, correct coat and
hindquarters, moved and showed well. BCC. 2. Waugh. TRIBANNON MINUET.
Another showy one, good head, teeth large with correct bite, good double coat,
correct front and hindquarters. 3. Thomas. TYCADNO MORNING
STAR. PGB. (5) 1.
Owen. CALDWELL CAREFREE. A
most appealing bitch, good reach of neck, well balanced, nice head, front and
topline, typical dark eye and well placed ears, in good coat. 2. Thomas. TYCADNO MISS MONEYPENNY. Good head and expression, correct eye
colour and shape, good front, well padded feet, nice spring of rib, just
lacked a bit of substance. 3. McGrath. Brenndarcy
Cinnamon Girl. LB. (6) 1. Hughes and Hooton. GYNCAIRN BELIEVE IN MAGIC. A very showy bitch, her movement is her
quality a joy to watch, good neck and shoulders, nice spring of rib, level
topline and good tailset, double coat of correct texture. 2. Owen. CALDWELL CALL THE
SHOTS. Appealing head, good shoulders, correct tailset, super front, in full
coat of good texture, moved and showed well. 3. Shannon and Storr. BRENNDARCY DIZZEE RASCAL. OB. (3) 1. Osborn. CH. TWESLAM THISTLE BE MAGIC.
Lovely bitch this one, well balanced, very much my type of cairn but
seem to lack her sparkle today, good front and rear, keen expression, good
indentation with correct stop. RCC. 2. Coates. PENTICHARM STARLIGHT. Grey
brindle, well furnished head with the desired expression, in good coat and
condition, good rib and topline, correct tailset, strong neck and clean
shoulders. |
