CAIRN JUDGE LEEDS 15 Cairn
Terriers I
enjoyed my morning judging this entry, thank you. I was delighted by the
depth of quality in the bitches – the challenge line up was, I thought, full
of lovely bitches. I
tried to get the right balance for the breed as a priority – allied to good
movement & typy heads. Many
thanks to my stewards Debbie Dixon & Colin Woodward. MPD 1
Birselaw Stay With Me, 8½ months brindle, lovely proportions & balance,
good skull, stop & eyes. Ears could be neater. Scored in rib &
proportions. Sound & accurate on the move. In heavy coat. Full of type
& quality for the future. BPD; 2
Seveek I Spied That Dream, 7 months red, at the moment a little rangy but he
is well made with good head, coat & movement. Not as forward in body as
1. JD 1
Carradine George Flies with Harkinleigh, 14 months brindle of lovely
proportions & excellent topline. Strong head with good eye colour. Good
proportions. Maximum bone for my taste. Excellent coat. Very good rear drive
& profile. Front action can tighten a little. Great topline, correct
tailset & carriage, exciting young dog. RCC; 2
Anjofra Russian Roulette, 15 months, lovely type I liked a lot & I
preferred his bone to 1 but he needs to fill out in body now. Has excellent
movement & topline. When he matures in body should make a lovely dog; 3
Brenndarcy Lord Marmaduke avec Strathgarten. PGD 1
Birselaw Never Say Never at Kerrykeel, 17 months, he is too big for my taste
but he is balanced with good length of leg & medium length of back.
Scored in head although his ears could be smaller. Good rib & moved well.
Needs new coat; 2
Seveek Double Dice, 2 years, smaller dog but he is a little low on the leg
for balance & a little narrow in head. Sound moving. Topline could be
better. Not in his best coat. LD 1
Gyncairn Magical Mystery, almost 2 years, beautiful type, a real workmanlike
terrier & lovely in the head & eye & ears. Completely balanced
& very good movement. Correct tailset & carriage. Made the last three
in the challenge. Top quality; 2
Carradine Dexter, very showy dark brindle of 2 years, lovely head & eye.
Good rear action. A little loose in front. Tail carriage just a little high
& this makes him look a little too compact. I preferred the balance of 1; 3
Renshaw There And Back Again. OD A
good class for depth of quality. 1
Ch Honeyhall Headboy, 3 years, scoring in head & strength of muzzle to
win this. Excellent movement. Coat just about to blow. Lovely proportions
& balance. CC & BOB; 2
Svendalens Snow Knight, 3 years, lovely type & proportions, good mover.
Not the strength of head of 1 but I liked him a lot. I would have preferred a
little more coat; 3
Nordcairns Once Upon A Time at Birselaw. VD 1
Ch Carradine Night Listener at Harkinleigh, 7 years, lovely proportions &
balance, correct in tailset & carriage, good head for strength &
strong jaw. BV. MPB 1
Seveek Hopes ‘N’ Dreams, 7 months, just looking a little long for her leg
length at the moment but when she settled on the move looked more balanced.
In good coat & a very good mover. Head needs time to develop. Good eye.
Full of spirit; 2
Seveek Country Sunset, 7 months, a little heavy in body & this affected
her topline & front action. I liked her head & expression. Needs new
coat. PB 1
Brenndarcy Moonstruck, stood out here, lovely proportions, balance &
shape held on the move. 9½ months, lovely puppy for size, proportions &
balance. Scored in rib & chest. Good head proportions, lovely ears &
good eye. Excellent coat, correct tail, very good on the move & her drive
& assurance took her to BP; 2
Tweslam Gimme Gimme Magic, 9 months red, another of excellent proportions,
lovely expression for dark eyes of correct shape. Good coat texture. Just not
as forward in rib & body as 1 but should finish well; 3
Pendley Ola. JB Difficult
class, all different in type but all with quality. 1
Trekhilli Pickled Pepper, 15 months, maximum size for a bitch for me but
scored on the move & in topline. In very good coat. Good head
proportions; 2
Carradine Connies Kirsty, looked my winner standing, light brindle of 14
months. I preferred her size & she has a lovely head but her topline on
the move could have been stronger. In excellent coat. Just a little reluctant
to put all in on the move; 3
Miketos Marvellous Fiona at L’Artiste. PGB 1
Seveek Snow Angel with Svendalens, 23 months, lovely size, good length of
leg. Correct for bone. Feminine quality head. Good movement with best topline
& tailset of the class; 2
Caldwall Carefree, 2 years, I liked her proportions & type very much
& she moves with a good stride. Good head & ears. I preferred front
angulation & tailset of 3
Tweedisle Playing With Fire at Landbuck. LB 1
Gyncairn Believe In Magic, copybook for size, type, a beautiful cream with
black point. 2 years, lovely type & proportions, stood out here. In great
coat. Ultra sound. Very good in head & ears & with lovely expression.
Open winner pipped her on maturity of body but I loved her. RCC; 2
Brenndarcy Cinnamon Girl for Owenreach, 2 years red, in rather short coat but
of good texture. Very sound & appealed in head & expression. Just a
little heavier in body than 1. More collected on the move than 3
Tribannon Minuet, lovely type but giving her hander a hard time. OB Excellent
class. 1
Ch Seveek Living The Dream, took my eye going round the ring for stride &
topline. 3 years, lovely type & proportions, very good mover. In
excellent coat. Scored in quarters & tailset in a very close decision.
Quality head, good eye & ears, good forechest & ribbing. CC; 2
Pendley Hester, 3 years, great showgirl & mover. Lovely size, lovely
proportions. Appealed in headpiece. In very good coat; 3
Ch Tweslam Thistle Be Magic. VB Both
lovely bitches & I changed my initial placing of them because of the
great spirit & drive of the older bitch. 1
Curtisey Foreign Account with Carradine, 9 years, dark brindle, lovely headed
bitch with excellent proportions. In shorter coat but scored in topline &
rear drive. A touch heavy in body & this shows in her front action; 2
Ch Landbuck Jazz Hands, 7 years, looked my winner standing being lighter in
body & lovely size & proportions. In good coat. A little lacklustre
on the move on the day & this showed in her topline on the move. FRANK KANE |
