Thank
you to the officers and committee for their invitation to judge the C.T.C. 83rd
Championship show and to my very helpful stewards, Adam Wallace and Betty
Shaw. Plus a thank you to Linda & Alan Firth for the excellent
photographs of my winners. Thank
you also to the exhibitors, many of whom had travelled long distances to
attend. I hope you all had an enjoyable day. My
first requirement, when judging is sound movement. Today I was pleased with
my winners but very disappointed in the very poor hind movement of many
exhibits and also a few wide fronts, type and temperament were as usual very
pleasing. (1)
Cairn Terrier
Special Veteran Dog or Bitch (7 to 9 years) (6, 1 A) A mixed sex class of healthy
sound young veterans 1. Smith’s Ch.
Rocasovale Razzle Dazzle, 10.5 yrs. – favourite of mine still in great form.
Showed nonstop, moved well holding his topline, well set tail, still has good
shoulders and straight front. Enjoying his day out. B.V. 2. Dawson’s Sybster
Sauvignon, just a youngster at 8 years. An alert wheaten bitch with typical
head and expression, well bodied and in good double coat. 3. Berrecloth Sybster
Shiraz SH CM (2) Cairn Terrier
Special Vintage Dog or Bitch (10 years and over) 1. Berrecloth CH
Sybster Spring Time Sh CM. & 2. Berrecloth Sybster Spring into Summer SH CM. 13 year old sister
and brother. The dog just had the edge on showmanship and movement. Both in
very good coat and condition. A credit to the breed and owner. (3) Cairn Terrier Minor
Puppy Dog (3, 2 A) 1. Waugh’s Tribannon
Licorice Coin TAF 7months dark brindle puppy, good head type shoulders and
straight front, correct tailset. Would have like more drive from rear end.
But promising youngster. 4) Cairn Terrier Puppy
Dog (1) 1. Davey &
Baillie’s Castleline Pure Jackman At Beranburh. 11 month light brindle but
still very immature. Showed well but topline and hind movement needs to
improve. (5) Cairn Terrier Junior Dog (3) 1. Catto’s Birselaw Stay
with Me. A quality dark brindle, attractive head, correct mouth, dark eyes
and a nice expression. Good front, neck and shoulders topline and tailset.
Close hind movement let him down today. 2. Keeves’ Seveek I
Spied That Dream. Plenty to like about this red dog but he gave his handler a
hard time today! This made movement difficult to assess. Lovely head and
expression should do well with a new coat and some ring craft. 3. Smith’s Rocasovale

Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Dark Charmer, Nice size and shape, correct topline and
tailset, liked his good front and shoulders. Moved smartly but hindquarters
too straight so lacked rear drive. (9) Cairn Terrier Post
Graduate Dog (5, 1 A) 1. Parkin’s Carradine
My Mate Matthew. Dark brindle, a lot to like about this 3year old, correct
size and type. Typical head with alert expression. His front appeared a
little wide when standing but covered the ground well with plenty of drive.
In good coat and showed well. 2. Marshall’s
Brenndarcy Lord Marmaduke Avec Strathgarten. Wheaten typical head with dark
points, neat ears nice size and outline, good in coat and body, showed very well
with enthusiasm. 3. Confue & Pavlova
Anjofra Roulette Russe (10) Cairn Terrier
Limit Dog (4, 2 A) 1. Waites’ Svendalens
Perseverance with Lentrica. Dark brindle, typical head, neat ears, good reach
of neck, straight front, moved ok but stands straight in hindquarters. Coat
ok. 2. Bateman &
Gompels’ Carradine Terries Tipple. Neatly made wheaten, good head topline and
tailset. Movement let him down. Showed well and in good coat. (11) Open Dog (4) A very strong class. 1. Shaw’s Honeyhall
Headboy. DCC & BIS. A great pleasure to go over this very worthy C.H.
Dog. Grey brindle very masculine in head and expression. Very well balanced
and constructed. Good reach of neck, shoulders, topline and tailset. Lovely
straight front. Moved soundly and showed the whole time, in good textured
coat and condition. 2. Hogarty’s IR.CH.
Cadagio Don’t Stop Me Now. Red brindle, attractive typical head and
expression, neat ears. Excellent reach of neck, level topline and tailset
making a very good outline. Another showman who covered the ground well with

Brenndarcy Cloudbusting. I fell for this very promising 7month wheaten puppy.
Feminine head dark expressive eyes, good stop, mouth and neat ears, good
reach of neck and level topline, correct tailset . Held her balanced outline
on the move, moved soundly with good reach and drive, showed well with
animation. Paying attention to her handler good textured coat should do well
when ready. BPIS, 2. Confue Anjofra Terri Aire, another
confident and well made puppy attractive head good reach of neck flowing into
correct shoulder and topline. Correct textured coat coming in. showed well,

Turner. Grey brindle beautiful head of correct type and expression. Super
front good spring of rib, topline and tailset, between coats today showed
well. 2. McGrath Brenndarcy
Dreamsville for Owenreagh. Light grey brindle feminine head with dark points
and attractive expression, good front and shoulders but a little straight in
hindquarters moved ok, well presented with correct textured coat showed well. 3. Davey & Baillie

Junior Bitch (5, 1 A) 1. Miller’s Cornton
Rosemaree, very nice quality bitch of lovely breed type. Attractive head,
dark points, level topline and correct tailset, good spring of rib and well
made throughout. Showed and moved well should have good future with a new
coat. 2. Hogarty’s Cadagio
All That Matters, red brindle attractive head and expression neat ears,
excellent reach of neck, topline and tailset. Well balanced with good
outline. Moved ok and showed with animation. 3. Keeves Seveek Hopes

Yearling Bitch (5, 1 A) 1. Hogarty’s Cadagio as
Long as You have Me. Another quality red from this kennel, pretty head, dark
points, liked her straight front and good shoulders & topline, in good
coat and condition, moved well. 2. Shannon &
Storr’s Brenndarcy Moonstruck, wheaten with typical head, dark points, very
well balanced outline, neck flows into shoulders, level topline and correct
tailset. lots to like just lost out as not moving her best today 3. Seveek Hopes N

Cinnamon Girl for Owenreagh. Smart red bitch with good head type and
expression, balanced outline, good reach of neck shoulder and front. In good

Clara. Dark brindle typical head type, neat ears, level topline, good front,
enthusiastic show girl. Moved ok. 3. Waites Specially

Carefree, very nice grey brindle, so well balanced, makes a lovely picture,
well made throughout, in super coat, won on movement today. 2. Harrison, Inett,
Clayton Carradine Connie’s Kirsty. Another very good dark brindle, larger
than one but balanced and with a very good reach of neck and topline, in very
good coat and well presented. 3. Shannon & Storr
Brenndarcy Fortune Teller (21) Open Bitch (6) An excellent quality
class. 1. Waugh’s Tribannon Minuet.
Beautiful quality wheaten, lovely head with dark points, not large but so
well balanced in outline, level topline and tailset. Excellent movement which
covered the ground so well. Naughty but nice temperament pleased to award her
BCC & RBIS. 2. Owen’s Ch. Caldwall
Call the Shots. Another quality bitch, correct size well balanced outline,
good reach of neck which flowed into correct shoulders and front of. In nice
